Takahama Town is located in the westernmost part of Fukui Prefecture and is a seaside town rich in nature of sea and mountains.
The first beach in Asia to be awarded the "BLUE FLAG".
Wakasa Wada Beach is a popular beach that was the first beach in Asia to receive the "BLUE FLAG" international environmental certification in 2016, and is characterized by its outstanding clarity, shallow waters, and wide white sandy beach. There are eight beaches in the town, including Wakasa Wada Beach, and many tourists visit in summer to enjoy swimming and marine activities.
Aobayama, nicknamed "Wakasa Fuji," is the symbol of Takahama Town. In spring and fall, climbing Mt. Aobayama is popular.
