Spanish Mackerel

Spanish Mackerel

As the Chinese character for "Spanish mackerel" (鰆) indicates, it is said to be a fish that heralds spring. In recent years, however, it is caught year-round, and Fukui Prefecture's catch is one of the highest in Japan. It has a moderately fatty, elegant, and delicious flavor, and fresh fish is excellent as sashimi.

Sumika Harubaro(炭家 はるばろ)

Sumika Harubaro(炭家 はるばろ)

This izakaya is known for its seafood, which the owner himself purchases at the market, and its meat dishes cooked over charcoal. For lunch, we recommend the "Dashikara Set Meal," which features Kansai-style dashimaki (dashi rolls) with the refined flavor of bonito and kelp broth and little sweetness!
