Eel
It is a specialty caught in Mikata Lake in Wakasa Town, one of the Mikata Five Lakes straddling Mihama and Wakasa Towns. Unlike eels from other regions, which are fed on goby, these eels are fatty and highly nutritious because they are fed on high-protein gokai (bitterling).
